La région du Karst a donné naissance à un nombre impressionnant de grottes et autres merveilles souterraines. La plus connue des Grottes est celle de Postojna (à 15 km de Trnje), mais les grottes de Škocjan (à 30 km de Trnje) et la grotte Križna (à 30 km de Trnje) valent vraiment le détour !
The world famous Lipizzaner stud at nearby Lipica is perfect for horse addicts and all nature lovers – being 45 km from Trnje.
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia ( 65 km from Trnje ), is a very charming place to visit with a beautiful city centre, including riverside cafes, market places, fine museums and of course, the historic castle. In Summer there are often outdoor concerts in the city parks and streets – and many restaurants have outside tables.
The Adriatic coast – with the Slovene seaside towns of Portoroz, Piran and Izola and the resort of Opatija in Croatia, are all within one hour drive from Trnje! The seawater is salty and warm, for example, + 24 c between July and August.There are very many restaurants to choose from with particularly fantastic fish menus.
For hikers and people who like to go for walks in the nature there are great paths into the surrounding countryside and up into the Javornik and Sneznik mountains. We have excellent local guides to ensure your trip is a safe and pleasurable experience. Our guides can also take smaller groups or families on tours at all levels. For example, you could go up to Sveta Trojica at 1106 m for half a day or take the whole day for Mt Sneznik at 1796 m. You could also take a tour around some of our 17 unique, local disappearing lakes, Petelinje and Palčje are the biggest two – and both very close to Trnje.

Visit the studfarm Lipica – see the stabels and watch the show – not only for horsefreaks – The farm is a lovely area for walks and there is a nice golfcourse there as well.
The neighbourhood offers many caves – we reccomend križna jama (cave).
Or the very nice Škocjanske jame.
– both in nice surroundings – less than 40 km to drive from Trnje. And both caves are not overrun by masstourism.
If you prefer the easier way – go to – the biggest cave in Slovenia Postonjska jama – where you partly walk partly drive with underground train through the cave.
The capital of Slovenia with all its charm can make your day full of nice experiences – visit the marketplace – old town – the churces and museums …….. or simply sit and enjoy the life at one of the cafees next to the river Ljubljanica.
You can either take the train from Pivka – or go by car – cca 60 km.
